How To Throw a Great Spiderman Birthday Party
Throwing an Amazing Spiderman birthday party is a great way to make your child's day special and memorable. Using a few dollars and some ingenuity, you can put together bags of Spiderman related favors so kids can take the fun home with them. Often, discount and dollar stores will have themed decorations available or you can try an online retailer.
Cake molds are available but even a home made cake with some tinted icing can make for a great looking Spiderman birthday cake. If you are short on time, you could consider a trip to your local bakery to see what they can offer. For the sake of simplicity, you may decide to choose a simple Spiderman cake topper.
One of the things that always made my birthday parties special as a child was the inclusion of a pinata. For your Amazing Spiderman birthday party, a Spiderman pinata can be bought or even made depending on your level of skill. For a really fun party game that kids of any age will enjoy, try hanging some black plastic spiders from pieces of twine. Hand out cans of silly string and see who has the most skill in hitting the spiders. The winner is the one who hits the spiders most in the allotted time.
Being that an idle mind is the devil's workshop, kids should be kept busy with activities. Variations on the traditional Pin the Tail on the Donkey game can be made with the substitution of a spider. In the name of literacy and encouraging a lifelong love of reading, comic books are a great item to give out. Even very young children who are not yet reading can make use of the pictures to follow the story.
A supply of paper and pens/ pencils/ markers can be the impetus for a Spiderman drawing contest. If you are computer savvy, you can print Spiderman invitations and just about anything else you might want to save some money on by making yourself.
A great way to generate interest in kids, besides the theme, is to send each guest an invitation with a list of five movies you will show to go with the cake. In going with the Spiderman theme, make the choices a blend of Spiderman movies and cartoons. Request that the RSVP be returned with their choice checked off. Kids love to have a say in things and this will have them excited to see what movie will be shown.
Whether you decide to pick from dollar store items, make everything yourself or a combination there are many viable ways to make your party a success. A bit of creativity mixed with the willingness to put in some extra time and effort will pay off.
