What is the difference between a detective and a crime commissioner?
I really want an answer ASAP. I don't have a clue! What does a crime commissioner do for living? I know it is something with the police and so..
A "detective" does what the name implies (he/she "detects" clues & tries to solve crimes).
A "crime commissioner" is more of an upper-level manager (similar, e.g., to a Chief of Police, but who would manage people trying to solve crimes whereas the Chief of Police would generally manage all of the people in the police department).
The "Crime Commissioner" may be a separate bureaucratic office from the police, but would work with them.
