What is the "adult graphic book" section of the library?
So I was in the back of the library looking at the recorded books and I passed a shelf that was labeled "adult graphic books" and I was curious as to what it was. Seeing the name as being potentially very dirty, I did not want to be seen looking at that section. Does a library really have pornographic books or am I just misinterpreting this title? I would think that it would be out of the question for a public place to have pornography so I am just wondering if this is actually true.
Haha, no, an adult graphic novel is essentially a novel lengthed comic book. An example would be Frank Miller's "Watchmen" or "300" (both of which have also been made into films). They can take any form and be part of any genre, just as long as it is graphic (read: images; not: explicit). Japanese manga would also qualify in this category.
So you can rest assured next time you are in a library, you won't have to hide your face and avoid disapproving stares from the people around you.
