Why are my VHS transfers so quiet?
There seems to be something up with my DVD recorder, all of my VHS transfers the picture quality is acceptable by the audio is really quiet for some reason, so much so that even turning the volume up to full the audio is only just listenable. To the best of my knowledge this happens to the majority of my tapes, some of them can be copied over and the sound is okay.
Why is this? I am playing back my video tapes on a Sony SLV-415 Mono VCR from 1991 connected to my DVD recorder via SCART, as it is the only VCR deck I have. This doesn't happen on any other recording input, say if I'm recording Sky. My DVD recorder is a Visitron 5001 recorder... That's all the info I can give.
Might it be hampered by a Mono VCR, and the age of the tapes perhaps?
hello try a new set of cables also most likely issue is a bad audio head on the vcr try using a head cleaner see if issue gets better but i dont think its the burner
